Nutrition North Canada (NNC) receives data from all retailers and suppliers who are registered with the program. Submitting this data is a key requirement that all retailers and suppliers must fulfill to participate in the program. The data is used to monitor how NNC subsidies are distributed and to make decisions about the program’s subsidy rates and eligibility list.
Reports on the Subsidy
These reports provide information on the types and amounts of products that receive a subsidy under the program. The information comes from retailers and suppliers who are registered with the program.

Reports on the Cost of the Revised Northern Food Basket
These reports provide information on the cost of a nutritious diet for a family of four for one week using the Revised Northern Food Basket (RNFB). The food prices used to calculate the cost of the basket come from retailers in the North who are registered with NNC.
Reports on Retailer and Supplier Compliance
These reports describe the conclusions of independent auditors that have examined whether retailers and suppliers registered with NNC complied with the terms and conditions of the contribution agreement for the program’s subsidy.
